Heated Cylinder Wrap

From $234.75

A Heated Cylinder Wrap provides freeze protection for your propane, butane, and other compressed gases for maximum safe output. When the weather turns frigid, it’s very difficult to maintain optimal pressure in a gas cylinder. This prevents the gas from vaporizing which in turn makes your gas cylinders unusable. Powerblanket utilizes GreenHeat Technology which evenly heats the entire blanket surface, resulting in a more efficient method of heating your cylinders and materials.

When working with compressed gases, each substance has its sweet spot – as temperature drops so does PSIG. By using a Powerblanket heated cylinder wrap, gases can be heated and maintained at optimal temperatures allowing for maximum safe output. Keep your pressure up, extend “gas mileage”, and eliminate unnecessary refills regardless of outdoor weather or working conditions.

Description

A Heated Cylinder Wrap by Powerblanket keeps propane, butane, nitrogen, oxygen and other compressed gases from freezing and losing optimal pressure. Powerblanket heated cylinder wraps change the conventional method of transferring heat to gas cylinders. This revolutionary design optimizes container pressure and increases cylinder efficiency by providing a uniform barrier of heat across the entire cylinder.

  • Heat, insulate and protect compressed gases.
  • Quickly heats cylinder to a preset 90º F / 32º C (± 10º F/5º C).
  • Provides an insulated full-wrap design to increase flow rate performance and efficiency of gas cylinders.
  • Powerblanket Lite band heaters for heating applications that don’t require a full wrap cylinder heater.
  • Powerblanket Xtreme uses a more supple gray vinyl material for extremely cold conditions.
  • Saves money by optimizing gas and material usage.
  • Adjustable straps for a secure fit and cinch top design minimizes heat loss.
  • Eliminates unnecessary cylinder refills in cold weather.
  • Certified to by ETL to UL & CSA safety standards.

Gas Mileage

Powerblanket Cylinder Heated Wraps increase tank gas mileage

GAS MILEAGE

Propane tanks supply the best output when warm, whether it is the ambient temperature that is keeping your tank warm, or an external heat source. Gas volume is determined by the number of molecule collisions occurring within the container, and these collisions increase as the temperature increases.

Powerblanket gas cylinder heaters afford you increased propane flow and insulation. Powerblanket gas cylinder heaters will improve propane tank efficiency. Increase your gas mileage with Powerblanket.

Models

Powerblanket Lite

Powerblanket Lite is designed for heating jobs on a smaller scale. These models feature a lower power density. They are more energy efficient and designed for residential and lite industrial applications.

Powerblanket Standard

The Powerblanket product line is designed for any definitive heating job. Each product is built with a rugged vinyl shell that is safe to use in temperatures as low as -20°F (-29°C).

Powerblanket XTREME

The Powerblanket Xtreme line is designed for harsh climates with a more durable vinyl shell that is safe to operate in temperatures as low as -40°F (-40°C). These blankets will protect your materials and help you maximize your yield through the bitter cold weather.

FAQs

-60°F Gray Alloy Vinyl (Extreme Product) -20°F Black D-15 Vinyl (Standard Product)

Ready To Ship models come standard at 120VAC, but we offer 208, 240 & 480VAC custom solutions.  Anything we make below 120VAC or over 240VAC, along with anything built to run over 24Amps, will be non-ETL.

This could cause overheating.  NEVER add extra insulation to any of our heating products.  It will void any warranty and MAY BE HAZARDOUS.

All Powerblanket® products are shipped FOB Salt Lake City, UT, 84119.

Thermal Load is the amount of energy required to keep a space or object at a desired temperature.  When the environment is cooler than the desired temperature of the space or object, the thermal load is a heating load and is the amount of energy required to be added to the space or object in order to achieve the desired temperature.  All things being equal, the heating load will increase when the ambient air temperature decreases, or when the wind speed increases, or if the space or object is placed in contact with a large thermal mass, like a cold concrete floor.

Rapid Ramp (RR) Drum/Bucket is 100°F (± 10°F) / 38°C (±5°C)
PRO Drum/Bucket is 145°F (± 5°F) / 63°C (±3°C)
Foam Box Heaters 110°F (±10°F) / 43°C (±5°C)
Tote Heaters 145°F (± 5°F) / 63°C (±3°C)
DEF Tote Heaters 70°F (± 10°F) / 21°C (±5°C)
Gas Cylinder Heaters (propane) 90°F (± 10°F) / 32°C (±5°C)
Multi-Duty (concrete curing) from approximately 100°F to as high as 150°F
Extra Hot (ground thawing) 150°F (± 10°F) / 65°C (±3°C)

A few things may cause this: ambient temperature, wind speeds, product location, and possible additional variables.

Yes. The recommended product line for this is our Ground Thawing blankets

Not typically, it depends on depth of concrete or asphalt but this not an advised solution.

Our two best sellers are the BH55-PRO which heats/protects a 55-gallon drum and the TH275 which heats/protects a 275 gallon IBC tote.

Powerblanket products use a patented heat spreading technology that has revolutionized effective heat spreading.  Powerblanket uses this technology exclusively in all of its products.  Powerblanket products are electrically powered and heated through internal preset thermostats inside the insulated blankets.

Overlapping the heating element of a Powerblanket product could cause it to overheat.  If you don’t have an even thermal load will cause overheating.

All Powerblanket® heated solutions are certified by ETL to UL & CSA safety standards except for our DC, Powerblanket 400 & Heat warmer products.
